We are pleased to invite you to participate in the "Afanasy Nikitin: Road of Friendship" Motorcycle Rally, which will take place on 15 August 2026 in Moscow to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of India's Independence. The celebrations will begin with the official Flag Hoisting Ceremony at the Embassy of India in Moscow. Immediately following the ceremony, the motorcycle convoy will set off on its commemorative ride.

On June 15-17 the Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy, Moscow, hosted a business conference bringing together representatives of the Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO, comprising representatives from various sectors of Indian business), the United Diplomatic Council (UDC) - an international platform for fostering diplomacy, leadership, and international cooperation, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The Afanasy Nikitin International Award is a public award established by our organisation to recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals from Russia and India to the development of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, scientific, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. Since its inception, the award has been presented to more than 15 recipients whose work has helped to strengthen the partnership between our countries and peoples.

On June 30, the Centre for Oriental Literature hosted the first meeting of the Russian-Indian Discussion Club, organised by the Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation ‘Blizhniy Klub - Indian Compatriots in Russia’ (NRI Club, Russia). The event brought together young experts in various fields of Russian-Indian relations, politics, economy and culture. The meeting was moderated by Valeria Filatova, Chair of the Indo-Iranian Club of the MGIMO Student Academic Society.

On June 12, the Embassy of India in Moscow hosted a festive event celebrating Russia Day for the third consecutive year. The celebration was organised by the NRI Club - Indian Compatriots in Russia, bringing together more than two hundred Russian and Indian guests.

Between June and August 2026, Moscow will host a series of exciting and interesting events that will appeal to both sports enthusiasts and those who appreciate India’s rich and diverse culture.

The Second Indian Film Festival in Russia (October 4-15, 2025) – from the bustling hall of the Embassy in Moscow to crowded screenings from Saint Petersburg to Vladivostok – became not just an important event, but a reunion of two cultures that share a deep affection for one another.

In 2025, cultural events across Moscow and Russia highlighted strong India–Russia ties.Festivals like Bharat Utsav, India Day, Onam, and Diwali Mela showcased Indian music, dance, cinema, cuisine, yoga, and Ayurveda. Film festivals and regional programs brought people together and strengthened cultural exchange.
